Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 1, 2026
Lire does not collect, transmit or sell any personal information. Everything you do in the app stays on your device.
What stays on your device
Your cards, lists, study history, settings, imported books and any text you paste are stored locally in the app. We never receive them. If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it.
Camera and photos
If you choose to read a page from the camera or a photo, the text is recognized on your device using Apple's Vision framework. The image is not uploaded anywhere. Lire asks for camera or photo access only when you use this feature, and you can revoke it in iOS Settings.
Speech
Pronunciation uses your device's built-in French voice and audio files that ship with the app. No audio is sent to us.
No accounts, tracking or analytics
Lire has no accounts, no advertising, no analytics and no third-party tracking. The app does not make network requests.
Children
Lire collects no data from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
